Reflection on transcripts

Updated: Apr 13, 2022

I have noticed in the process of creating the transcripts, my questioning is shaped by my past research experiences. I asked a question specifically about unconscious uses of languages and cultures in learning which was a major theme from my honours study. This question was not specifically written into my interview plan for my PhD however, it was on my mind. I also asked about language, culture and thinking which was another theme heavily present throughout my honours study. These were not concepts I was familiar with prior to my honours research but in completing my PhD, it has come into my thinking. This is one of many influences, I am sure. Many of which are probably not transparent to me. I wish to acknowledge and document this occurrence as part of the research process to consider the impact it has had on the interpretation of my data.
