I wanted to take note of some personal and professional development that I have been engaging with recently. Especially in terms of publishing and peer reviewing processes within of the sphere of academia. I took the chance to complete a four-part online workshop related to peer reviewing. Each module explored various elements of reviewing academic papers such as providing feedback on how data and research outcomes are presented. As someone who is not yet published, I found it insightful to see the steps that a peer reviewer will take to ensure that the research is shared in an appropriate manner.

I have participated in several library workshops that focused on publishing with impact. These workshops featured experiences from peer reviewers, navigating journals and knowing how to find suitable places to publish research depending on the discipline. This is the first time I have engaged with information about publishing and dispersing research beyond an immediate audience.
